About Us

Nancy and James Colvin purchased this 68 Acre farm in 2006 to be used by their children and grand children. Soon after, the family decided to relocate from Lake Palestine to the farm which was then named Deer Creek Meadows. Daughter Kim Dodson and son-in-law Trace, and their sons Nick and Holden remained in Berryville. Kim is the manager of Deer Creek Meadows so they are on the property daily and full time during the summer, holidays, and weekends. Trace is employed by the State of Texas as a prison guard. Connie and Robby's son, Ryan and his wife Holly live on the property and both are students at University of Texas at Tyler.

Daughter and son-in-law Connie and Robby Harbuck live on the property with their sons Ethan and Caleb. Connie is a teacher at Frankston ISD and Robby is employed by the State of Texas Comptroller's Office in the area of property taxes.

We are constantly improving our facilities and when you visit Deer Creek Meadows don't be surprised to see Robby on a John Deer tractor working the property. And where Robby goes so goes Caleb, and cousin Holden loves to join them. Family and friends loved Deer Creek Meadows so the Barn Room was added so they could visit and enjoy the property. Area residence heard about the Barn Room and wanted to rent it so they could enjoy the property. This was the beginning of Deer Creek Meadows as a cottage rental. Since operation began in August 2008 Deer Creek Meadows has housed hurricane victims, our neighbors family members, and guest wanting to get away and just enjoy the country.
